Review: Sohimi Mini Tongue Vibrator

Overview

Just in time for spring, the Sohimi Mini Tongue Vibrator has arrived! This clitoral vibrator is shaped like a beautiful purple tulip and fits in the palm of your hand. It has a soft silicone tongue that flicks when you turn on the vibrations to deliver gentle teasing stimulation to the clitoris, nipples, or anywhere else you fancy a licking sensation.

The toy itself is quite small at only 3” tall and 2” wide, making it good for travel or storage with limited space. It can also be easily tossed into a purse or overnight bag. There is a sort of travel lock on this toy, as pressing the button won’t do anything until you hold it down for a few seconds. It still poses a risk during travel if it’s pressed up against something in your bag but it’s less likely to turn on by itself with this feature.

Looking at Sohimi’s website, I was initially a bit concerned about the toy I received. Like a lot of foreign-made toys, there were a lot of translation errors with their site, as well as the toy’s instructions. I also got a bit concerned when I noticed this graphic on their site, claiming that this clitoral vibe could also be used for g-spot stimulation. I don’t know about anyone else’s g-spot but mine is 100% inaccessible with the short tongue of this toy and the idea of using it to even attempt to stimulate my g-spot had me cracking up.

That being said, clear instructions were not really necessary to figure out this model. Translation issues don’t really affect the quality of the toy itself, but it does seem a bit unprofessional. Despite this toy not being a g-spot toy in the slightest, it does have redeemable qualities as an external vibrator.

Functions

The Sohimi Mini Tongue Vibrator has 3 steady speeds and 7 patterned settings to choose from. Simply hold the button to turn on and then click it again to cycle through each setting until you find the one you want. Holding the button for a few seconds will power off the toy. I don’t personally use the patterned settings and always skip ahead to the strongest possible steady speed but if you like variety in your vibration settings, the 10 different options are nice.

The vibrations of this toy didn’t quite do it for me, but I admittedly need a pretty serious amount of power in a clit vibe. I’m not sure how the Sohimi Mini Tongue Vibrator compares with Sohimi’s other clitoral vibrators, but the tongue flicking on its own was not enough to get me to orgasm.

For someone who doesn’t need a great deal of power behind their vibrators, the strength isn’t bad. Folks who enjoy the sensations of oral sex might also enjoy this toy more than I did. However, for me, this toy really is more about the tease than the orgasm.

Care & Cleaning

Since the Sohimi Mini Tongue Vibrator is completely waterproof, it’s super easy to clean. A little soap and water will go a long way with this toy. Also, because it has magnetic charging, it’s perfectly safe to submerge in water while cleaning or playing in the tub or pool. Fully dry the toy before storing it in a cool, dry place with other non-porous toys.

Magnetic charging is always my preferred method of charging toys so I’m happy to see the Sohimi Mini Tongue Vibrator includes this feature. The vibrator comes with a USB charging cable that has a small magnetic platform for the toy to sit on while it charges.

Noise-wise, this toy isn’t super notable. It does have an audible motor but it isn’t particularly loud. If noise is a big concern for you, I’d probably advise you look into toys specifically built to be quieter but the average user shouldn’t have issues with this aspect of the vibe.

Conclusion

The Sohimi Mini Tongue Vibrator wasn’t bad but didn’t make it into my usual rotation of toys. As someone who needs a great amount of power in a toy, the gentle silicone tongue just wasn’t for me. While using it, I found myself wishing the silicone tongue was firmer and that the vibrations were stronger. That being said, someone who is new to toys or doesn’t need a ton of power to reach orgasm might enjoy this model more than I did.

This pretty little flower isn’t a bad option for someone who enjoys gentle licking sensations, but in my case, it just felt like too much of a tease with no real way to get off. However, for a completely waterproof, body-safe silicone vibrator, the Sohimi Mini Tongue Vibrator is not a bad purchase–especially for someone new to toys or this particular style of vibrator.
